Spirit Airlines will start taking Boston residents to another Florida destination by this fall.
The ultra-low-cost carrier airlines will make its debut at Miami airport on October 30th. Spirit Airlines, a Miramar, Fla.-based carrier, will launch 30 domestic and international routes, including one to Logan International Airport. The airlines will begin daily service between Boston and Miami from November 17th.
Spirit Airlines currently offers flights between Boston and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and the new Boston route will be an addition to that service, as per the airline.
“The new Miami routes will supplement Spirit’s existing service as the largest carrier at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as we ramp up plans for additional growth across our network,” the carrier wrote in a statement provided to Boston.com. “We’re based in South Florida and excited to expand in our own backyard. We know the Florida market better than anyone, and this expansion into [Miami International Airport] allows us to offer even more convenient, nonstop options from Boston to South Florida.”
The airline will announce flight timings and pricing at a later date.
